i think that nysc should re-introduce physical training.
1. when to have it:
on friday after training, close the range at 5pm and do physical training as a club in diff levels till 6.30pm.
OR
on monday mornings frm 6.30am till 8am. but not many ppl will agree since monday mornings are for "late sleeping and having precious family time wif ur parents". and going for lessons smelly and sweaty is a bit gross.
OR
come back to school on saturday to do physical training. which is a bit stupid cos going back just for physical training is troublesome.
2. why to have it:
allows team bonding, because talking is no allowed during training, so no communication between team mates. p.t. can be a form of communication because can talk during breaks and stuff like that.
AND
the idea of 同甘共苦and 有褔同享, 有难同当. so, in competition circumstances, when one of us screws up, the others will console the screwed person.
AND
communication between diff levels. the sec 1s and 4s do not really noe each other very well. this is because of diff training days. if p.t. is done in two groups, alternating between sec 1s and 4s, sec 2s and 3s, and sec 1s and 3s, sec 2s and 4s, then probably we will get to noe each other better.
AND
we would all like to get gold for napfa, wouldnt we?
3. wat to have during physical training:
push-ups. for arm muscles. its extremely important for the pistolers. would be better if we do it the army way, by pumping, instead of like how we used to do it, wif our legs crossed.
AND/OR
running around the school. to build leg muscles. it also helps to train the stamina, because during comps, wif 75 seconds per shot, it will be quite tiring as compared to our current training.
AND/OR
the balance thingy. i dunno wat its called, but its like around 10 ppl standing on a ledge, the top half of the foot in the air, w/o support, and the back part, the heel on the ledge, holding hands. everyone will try to swing their arms as hard as possible to see who falls down first. there can also be singing of songs like 当我们同在一起. this trains balance.
AND/OR
twinkles? twinkies? i dunno wat this is called also. basically lifting of arms 90 degrees forward, and clenching and un-clenching ur fists. this trains endurance and is also particularly good for the pistolers.
thats all.
shi ing said that she will probably organise a club chalet in mid june for everyone. like fri, sat and sun. there will be like games and stuff and she also says that she hopes that the current sec 2 batch will not pangseh like last year.
the engway thing. haiz, i was the one who tagged on his blog as 'a ny shooter'. he really has some attitude problems. his shots might be bad, it cant be denied. but, the point is that he is a bit revengeful. wait, maybe i used the wrong word. he likes to rake up stuff frm the past and unknowingly let everyone hate him. sometimes, winning an argument isnt everything. wat matters is whether u are gracious enough to accept ur defeat. learn how to be a gentleman, engway.
jianing, i hope u do realise that we already have a c div rifle team, which consists of jacqueline koh, belinda leong, urself and myself. i think that we are seriously lacking in team spirit. belinda especially. she is a bit diff to talk to.
finally, i can solve the 4 by 4 cube w/o any help. =) so far, my pb is 5min 10sec, which was achieved on the bus just now. i aim to get at least 5min by next week. =)
till the next post. =)
